The โLiverpool Cultural Threads Initiativeโ aims to showcase the rich cultural heritage and vibrant contemporary art scene of Liverpool through captivating visual storytelling along a series of routes that will thread throughout the city.
The first route being piloted by the Liverpool BID Company under the initiative will be the Liverpool Culture Mile. Approximately one mile in length the pilot will thread together cultural assets at St Georgeโs Plateau, Williamson Square, Bluecoat, Hanover Street, Paradise Street, and the Royal Albert Dock Liverpool, whilst showcasing modern art and cultural interventions along a defined route.

The term โMileโ has been chosen because it conveys a sense of a significant, yet manageable, journey that invites exploration and engagement. โMile’ is universally recognised and easily understood, suggesting a tangible distance that people can envision and experience. It evokes a sense of direction and purpose, highlighting the deliberate and curated nature of the cultural corridor.
