Through art in the Tate Collection, The Plant that Stowed Away traces the connections between the trading history of cities like Liverpool and the global movements of plants and people. This display is inspired by the Weeds of Wallasey series by Wirral-born photographer Chris Shaw and includes a collage by French modernist Henri Matisse, the Afro-futurist photography of Cristina de Middel, Turner Prize-nominated artist Delanie Le Basโs textile work and Kader Attiaโs caustic film exploring our relationship with oil and sugar.

You can now find us at RIBA North, Mann Island, while our Royal Albert Dock home is temporarily closed for redevelopment.
Our new space is smaller than our building on the Dock. Visitors can enjoy two small galleries and a family area. We have family activities alongside talks, tours and creative workshops. All events and activities are inspired by the unique collections held by Tate and RIBA.
You can find great gifts in our gallery shop, which is ready to welcome visitors.
We hope you can join us.
